For an Assassin

Post » Fri Oct 19, 2012 5:54 pm

I'm making an assassin build. I have everything figured out for it except one thing. Should I use a sword or a dagger? I've planned this build out well and just want a quick answer on what to use to make it perfect

have both, a dagger is good for stealth but it's always good to have a sword handy if things go south. Also illusion is a good magic build to go with due to invisibility and paralysis spells and the silent casting perk. Alchemy can be good too, archery aswell.

Dual wield daggers (swords are for warriors), always move in the shadows, avoid close combat, use bows and alchemy, and put all points in stamina. Weak but deadly = Fun.

Yeah... you can make a Bandit camp look like Jackson Pollock was the interior designer.

It's pretty [censored] brutal, yet gives me that warm fuzzy feeling that only Dexter can describe...

IMO...Neither. Weapons are boring in the long run for a sneaking character. Use Conjuration instead (Bound Bow deals roughly the same damage as Glass Bow on Master, with appropriate perks; and longer duration (and possibly more damage, I'm not too sure) if you are a vampire necromage. Use your imagination. Summon/raise things to fight for you make for some interesting stuff, especially if you're already speced in Illusion.

Maybe a couple points in Pickpocket? You can strip people's clothes and weapon later on... I once make a Forsworn jump off a cliff because I place his weapon in a small rock down below. TOTALLY intentional :D

And since you have Alchemy, you might as well restoration loop (it still works, btw) and make yourself no-cost at alteration, restoration, illusion and conjuration within a ring and a necklace; then you have the liberty to wear whatever you want. And don't waste time on Smithing (I learn this after 100-ting Alchemy); just a waste of perks

Also, be a vampire and get restoration to 70 to get necromage. Massive increase to both illusion and sneak; plus necromage gives you a 4 percentage increase in enchantment power; which really adds up if you have 4 items of the same effect; or you only need 3 items to achieve the same bonus as 4 (which free you a slot).

A tip on Illusion: Vampire + Shadow Warrior synchronize extremely well with Invisibility spell. Cast Invisibility, crouch and that Shadow Warrior kicks in with Vampire sneak bonus... This means you can literally disappear in front of an enemy.

Tons of things you can do with this game when you're NOT thinking like a bloody savage and try to bludgeon everything around you to death... You can do it with styles.

Even better when a dragon decides to land next to you and you kill it before it can even breathe any fire! Winning! lol
