Best Guess

Hey all, hope everyone who reads this is having a great day. I've been absent from these forums for a while, mostly because I'm not a very forum-y person, but I kinda gave up hope for Skyrim. With all the PS3 problems, I realized that if they are going to prioritize anything it (should) be that, and so I didn't have much hope for all these little nitpicky bugs that have been plaguing the game to be fixed. I've played Skyrim so much that I've come to the point where all the small things are driving me nuts. It's been pointed out that a game this large is going to have problems, which I accept, but it seems these are not small problems but rather internal issues. I will stop myself there, as I could wallow in this topic for a long fruitless time :P

Anyway, I have my gripes with Skyrim (which I've enumerated on this forum ad nauseum) but the simple fact is... no other RPG holds a candle to Skyrim. I tried Amalur, I tried to pick up Fable III again, and in the end the most satisfying RPG I've played since leaving Skyrim was Fallout 3. Even having played all of Skyrim that I have, I can easily see myself picking up the game again and pouring another 50-100 hours into it.

So as my topic title states, I'm here for some speculation. Do you think Bethesda will have a major clean up of Skyrim by this holiday? I read some stuff on the latest DLC speculation and it sounds very intriguing. I will be honest here: when I heard the Hearthfire announcement, I traded in my Skyrim copy out of extreme disappointment, but as I detailed; nothing else really compares to Skyrim. So, I am just interested in others thoughts, as I've come to find people on this forum are pretty good at anticipating what is going to happen, or at the very least, it is fun to see what people think is going to happen. I realize I can just wait and see if Skyrim is going to turn the corner, but as I said, I'm interested in what everyone thinks.

Thanks in advance!

I think it was rather foolish of you to sell Skyrim back. You said it yourself, nothing comes close to The Elder Scrolls series.

Now, I don't know about you, but if I was as bored with the game as you said you were, but I still knew it was the best of it's kind, I'd keep it. I think you should wait now because the price might go down, but you should have hung on to it.

Heartfire was one of the mini DLCs, so getting disappointed by it was also foolish, unless you were upset about the PS3 debacle. If it makes you feel any better, there's apparently PS3 coding in the patch notes for the most recent patch.

Yeah... nothing you said here I haven't thought to myself very recently lol. I deserve this chastisemant, honestly, I don't know what I was thinking. Like I said, I had played it so much I got to the point where all these little things were constantly taking away from my enjoyment of the game, and I was posting almost always negative things on these forums. Could I have just shelved the game? Yes. I don't know if I had the fortitude to do it though, so I sold it to force myself to stop playing...

Stupid yes, idiotic yes. :P

Also, if you read this, I would appreciate your thoughts on what you think is going to happen in the next two months. I am looking at Christmas break with an eager eye. If Bethesda kicks it in the butt, I can easily see myself picking up a copy and going at it again, especially when there is new dlc to sweeten the deal.

The new DLC seems pretty sweet, if the rumors be true. While Dawnguard still had flaws, it was a pretty good dlc with a decent amount of content. I've also heard Hearthfire adds a lot to do.

If you buy it on ps3 I'd wait a little bit, at least until after 11/11/12. I can see a goty announcement approaching, or at least all the dlc will be released at the same time.

Also, I don't know if you've tried planning a character before you play(character crafting), and maybe even a bit of role playing, but it's fun if you get into it. Gunner than the game itself at times.
