Does any one else just not like the companions?

I'm not sure what you mean. For me Aela the Huntress is a very likeable character if you know what I mean

Ria is probably the friendliest character in the game, Farkas is eager to become your brother and Aela agrees to undergo a painful ritual to change you. Vilkas and Jana are really the only condescending ones. Maybe Skjor as well.

They strike is a typical, almost stereotypical Nord mercenary group, which to me makes them rather uninteresting. They also seem to be a little hypocritical, doing honorable jobs such as rescuing people taken hostage, but also doing jobs like beating and intimidating common citizens, which i think would go against their supposed sense of honor. Also the werewolf thing is just kind of dumb.

I liken my disappointment regarding the Companions, to those who whom were disappointed with Winterhold after wanting to see the historic city for so long.

Due to bad dialogue, I find them completely unapproachable. They're overly arrogant and always refer to you as the newbie, even though their quest line can be completed in 20 min.

They are the successors of the people who mercilessly wiped out almost an entire civilization and race from Tamriel, I'm surprise that they even choose to help the people of Skyrim.

Likeability is a matter of personal view.
In every guild there's the one's you like, and the one's you don't like.

I think they could have done better. Through the companions aren't meant for a good type character.

It was the Dwemer who ultimately wronged the Falmer the most.
