So I'm on my 4th character and have done the deadric quest "the house of horrors" 3 times. On my latest character I'm achievement hunting. One achievement "oblivion walker" requires me to complete all deadric quests. On this character I have done all but "the house of horrors". When I go into markarth, the priest that gives the quest is no where to be found...

I've searched several times, and checked my "completed" quests. No I haven't done this quest on this character, but yes I have all other deadric quests done.

The only thing I can think of to explain why he is gone, is that I did the forsworn investigation (minor spoilers). At the conclusion of that jail type quest, they reak chaos in markarth killing several. I feel like he's a quest npc so shouldn't die, but either way I can't find him, so maybe a forsworn killed him during that battle. Really don't want to start a 5th character for this one (rather large) echievement. And no I don't have a load to before that quest, that was roughly 70 (in game) hours ago.

Any other ideas/solutions?

did you check inside the house yet he has gone in before without me even talking to him

I'm having the exact same problem. I can't find the dude.

Only I didn't let the forsworn loose. I did run after the conspiracy quest instead of letting them capture me. Then I came back to Markarth at a later time to complete the escape mission. Now when I ran from the city the guards and he were hostile.

But he didn't die, and I know he didn't die.... because I have tested on previous characters and he can't die!


I tried looking around Markarth and even ran outside thinking he may have followed me for awhile, but nope, not there.
