I'd be a Jian. I am a gentlemen but despite some people assuming that being nice makes me soft, I am quite the opposite. Much like the ideas about this blade. It was considered a gentlemenly weapon but it was quite effective in war, despite the more recently made thin blade ones that are used for visual aids in Martial art performances and ceremonies. Which have led to it being thought of as flimsy and just for show.
Nice choice.

I have to admit that I needed to look up the name since I was unfamiliar with it, but after seeing a pic I knew what you were talking about. I'm not as familiar with Chinese weaponry as I am Japanese.

However, that is a weapon that I would like to eventually add to my collection, even though most examples that I've came across so far have just been wall hangers.
