Skyrim's logo

Something that always seemed weird to me.

Skyrim is about Nords and Dragons, right? Why is the Symbol for the entire game the shield crest for the Imperial Legion? Granted, it IS a dragon, but you would think it would be more geared to the land or the game itself, specifically.

Just something that crosses my mind every time I load up Skyrim, haha.

It's supposed to be reminscent of Morrowind's logo..

But also, the fate of the empire is a big part of the game as well. Just as much as it was in Oblivion.

If that's not a hint to another dragon break, then I don't know what is.

Because siding with the Empire is canon....LOL I kid

Because like it or not the Empire is what links all these games together. It's been the one constant and was founded by a prior Dragonborn and the sigil is supposed to represent Akatosh the main deity of the Empire. And the protagonist is also a Dragonborn. And dragons are returning. And as Korr said the fate of the Empire is a big deal in this one. And Bears aren't as cool as Dragons.

Skyrim is also about the Stormcloaks' secession from the Empire, the Empire's fall to the Aldmeri Dominion and Thalmor's plans to destroy the established order. The Dragon is broken, so is the Empire. Its crown and heart - the diamond - is gone: like the Amulet of Kings, the Septims and the power which now lies in the hands of Thalmor.

Skyrim is more than just Nords and dragons. It's about everything that led to current events, about the power struggle in Tamriel and Towers falling one by one - this is what the Prophecy of the Dragonborn told us at the very beginning of the game.

It is the symbol of akatosh. Alduin is akatosh's firstborn... Game is all about dragons. It was never just a symbol for the empire. It was adopted by them as akatosh is their divine.

It's been the sigil of Akatosh and the symbol of the Imperial Legion since 1994. Nothing to do with Skyrim.
