Turning off borders

Post » Sat Oct 27, 2012 12:06 pm

I have searched the forums and found no answers but the same question several times . Is it possible to turn off the borders in Skyrim ? I have looked through everything I could find but did not locate the ini. files . Has Bethesda changed this feature and if so can it be overcome ?

Thanks
Hagar

AFAIK, no. I've certainly never seen anyone saying they have done it, and as you say, there's no command in either the .ini or the editor.

Maybe not in the INI, but one can mod it.
Liike Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout NV, one can open up the regions in the world dropdown, select tamriel, go to BorderRegion, and uncheck "Border Region".
Save it as a mod if you do not already have one.
Just remember that regions outside the border usually are not navmeshed for NPCs to follow.

From what I hear, you can go into either Cyrodiil or Morrowind once the borders are deactivated, but the resolution is supposedly lousy.

When you leave the map, you end up in an LOD world for the most part. Those are the distant textures that you see. As stated above, you need to make a mod, which probably already exists at the Nexus to cross out of the map.
