PS3 Update, making way for DLC?

Post » Sat Oct 27, 2012 5:46 am

Hey guys!

For all the Playstation 3 users, I just started up my PS3 and I get an update. (4.3), before I continue, I must asked there to be no flaming and "Xbox/PC/PS3" is better on my post, otherwise you will be reported. Thanks.

The question is, after researching a lot of the PS3 Skyrim DLC, and that it seems to be almost at completion and ready to release.. Is this update the final key to to success? What do you think?

As Hine stated in an interview, Sony and Bethesda are working together to solve the issues and release the DLC for the Playstation 3 users. Have they finally done it? Perhaps we'll find out soon!! :)

Interesting, I'll have to get on tomorrow and update Skyrim! I suspect that this will repair some of the software impurities that have existed on the PS3 version of Skyrim for a while. I don't want to get too optimistic, BUT I feel this will definitely create a stable environment for DLC releases and future DLC. Many have been waiting forever for the DLC, might as well consider this progress at least.

You know, in the 1.8 beta patch for the PC, PS3 DLC files were found days ago.
I guess something good is coming in for you guys. :)
I hope you will get your DLC soon.

Correct! :). I also found this online, they wouldn't write it for no reason.. Right? :)

Yes, but seeing as Sony is working WITH Bethesda and not to mention, the DLC's problem had to do with the PS3 and not so much Skyrim. All I am suggesting is that perhaps this update will also help us PS3 users get to content we well and truly deserve?

The problem lies with Skyrim and its difficulties with coding for the PS3. It's not solely a problem with Skyrim, or solely a problem with the PS3. And I don't think we DESERVE anything. We'd love DLC, yes, and in some instances Bethesda have an obligation to give us some form of DLC. But really, we haven't done anything to deserve new content.

It's safe to assume that we will be seeing some form of DLC. On some Skyrim covers, it mentions 'add-on content'. I'd say Bethesda will ensure that we get DLC (be it full expansions or something small, such as Hearthfire) so as to avoid legal complications.

It is a PS3 update mate.

I do agree with you, and I know it isn't entirely the console's fault or Skyrim's.. I was merely stating there have been complications within the Playstation's coding. I seen a screenshot of the coding, and yes it does say 'Add-on content'. But in saying that, I also didn't state that we were getting Dawnguard or Hearthfire, only that we would be getting some KIND of DLC. Also, I believe we do deserve the DLC, being as Bethesda promised it on every platform, and that promise was almost fulfilled.. But due to complications with the PS3, and thus I think PS3 players do deserve some sort of DLC whether it be Dawnguard and Hearthfire or something completely new (Maybe Dragonborn).

But despite saying that, I would LOVE to play Dawnguard, I love the Vampire Lord idea. I seen the idea on Youtube when they held the 'Idea's' thing with the Bethesda team.. :).

Like I said, I do agree.. But there needs to be some slack cut somewhere, that you must agree with.

Just jumped onto my PS3 and there was no update available. I'm in Adelaide, and I'd assume its released nation-wide.
Perhaps I'm not signed in though. I have no idea

Haha, I wasn't signed in at first. But when I did, I was asked to update. :)

he was suggesting it might - but I don't think so.

All that PS3 4.30 firmware update did was allow the PS3/PS Vita's trophies to be exchangeable and viewable on the PS3... and it closed down some feature called "Life with Playstation".

Sorry, but I don't think they would make an entire firmware update for just one game - especially when Bethesda said the problem is on their end, not Sony's.
