Why doesn′t TES have capes?

Post » Sun Oct 28, 2012 3:11 am

It seems like a pretty obvious addition to the next game or in a patch, but I have a badass Daedra armour and it just looks lame without capes D:

TES does have capes. See Daggerfall.

As for now? Because he don't have cloth physics to really make capes look good in Skyrim. ;)

Maybe the animation was too hard to co-ordinate or the cape didn't go properly with some of the armor. Maybe they just didn't have time!
Yeah, I would want capes as well, especially with Daedric, like you said. A flowing black and red cape... what if you could design the cape yourself? That idea is pretty far fetched... at least you could be able to choose Daedric Capes, Dragonscale Style Capes, etc.

Capes would be pretty cool, but I don't think that you would be able to design your own...it just doesn't seem feasible

Why doesn't Skyrim have everything the real world does? Be happy with what's in the game. The problem with making a game so large, with so much in it, is that people play it, and see anything as possible. This leads to endless, why doesn't Skyrim have (insert anything here)? Instead of just appreciating the amount of content the developers put into the game.

Kind of disappointing, yeah. Look at just about every fantasy or historical depiction involving snow. The imperials in Gladiator and Centurion, Game of Thrones, Conan.. they all had some cool fur capes. I don't care how high Nord frost resistance is.. they need one.

Nightingale has a cape. I'd love for the armor to have real equip-able capes. And cloaks.

Would've been a nice quest reward for the Companions (considering how other guilds do it).

Yea. I really hope its included in a dlc. If someone ever mods that, I'm getting a pc pronto. The armor I mean.

Why doesn't Skyrim have pants who is much easier to make. Capes introduces far more clipping problems as it has to fit both bulky armor and clothes in addition you get clipping with various weapons at back and tails.

Nightingale armor has an cape.

I like the skirt look. Real men wear skirts. Pants are for milk drinkers. Or milk lickers (Khajiit)

I figure since it will be compared with Batman's cape in AC they are too embarrassed. Remember they can't make a working ladder, or a ps3 title.

I can't laugh. It's kind of sad. Surely they could like... hire someone with more expertise in these areas. Simply saying "can't do it" is weird, for this industry, where everyone is basically a job hopping freelancer.

I admit it would be kind of cool to have a cape with my daedric armor as well, but I've never really cared to have one. I just went with it as is and have been happy with it.

The Nightingale set has a cape. Though it appears they overdid the starch.

Because your mom's face was so ugly it made Todd Howard cry tears onto his hard drive, causing a short that selectively destroyed all primary and back-up files having to do with capes.

I'm glad I don't have to try and convince people that cloaks are a staple part of fantasy like I did the last time I saw this topic brought up.
