Rooting for the "Bad guys"

All of that is a stretch, and if it were true, why did Lokir feel the need to say "I'm not a rebel?" You guys are pushing it. She said renegade because she thought you were an imperial stormcloak.

If you start the game as an Imperial, the Captain refers to you as the "renegade from Cyrodiil" when she calls you over to the chopping block, if we apply that same title to the other races then it becomes apparent that they thought you were an escaped convict or something to that effect, they never once assumed you were a Stormcloak.

You know what renegade means right?

A person who deserts and betrays an organization, country, or set of principles.

Like an imperial stormcloak. Or stormcloaks in general. They'd be renegades to the Empire from their perspective. Its obvious they thought you were with them.

No, she didn't. All she knew about you is that you were a prisoner whose name wasn't in the registry and that you were found crossing into Skyrim from Cyrodiil. The only time she EVER calls you a Stormcloak rebel is
Spoiler
if you follow Ralof out of Helgen during which you must face her in combat while wearing Gunjar's old armor in order to get your hands on the Helgen Keep Key.
But that doesn't mean she thought you were one to begin with.
