I may have stumbled upon something cool.

I went through the trouble of making an account on this forum (not that I mind, it's about time I joined) just to say that I may have found something cool within the game that I have searched for a mention but haven't found a thing.

When you speak with the courier, after you get the mail and the dialogue is complete, if you drop armor in front of him, he will ask you if he can have it. You get two choices; Yes or no (with more words than just that). After you say yes, he picks it up and puts it on. Freaking awesome. You can dress the courier LMFAO.

This happened after I had finished escaping the prison mines and he told me about the new museum opening up. I'm not sure if it's specific or if it happens whenever but I thought I would bring that to light. If it's already been found, disregard this message and carry on. XD

That actually happens often if you drop equipment near NPCs.
They will ask you if they can have it. I always denied, so I never knew they actually put it on.

Welcome to the forums.
The honour of granting you the traditional fishy stick belongs to an older forum user, though. I am not worthy. Yet.

First, let me say hi and welcome to the forums!

I knew that certain town's people would ask for items that I have dropped but they never have equipped them. I will try this the next time a courier delivers a letter to me.

Now just to take this all the way.
I was in an bandit dungeon with Lydia, was carrying to much so I dropped some stuff and was about to ask Lydia to take it, then a bandit suddenly walk in and ask if she could keep an axe.
Now both I and Lydia was sneaking so the bandit did not find us, however I guess she was close enough for the dropped item function to kick in.

Thank you for having me on the forums. Nice to see a community of well-mannered people. :D

I didn't know this was found but it was cool. I will try it out on other NPC's as well and see what happens. Thanks. :)

First of all, welcome to the forums! http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg

Also, this happens around lots of NPC's, not just the courier. If you keep dropping armor around, you will see quite a few people come up to you and ask for it.

Dropping an weapon with paralyze+absorb health might help npc in cause of dragon attacks or similar.

It's probably because the courier doesn't wear any armour other than clothes, so any armour you drop is better than what he's wearing.

Go to Riften and drop a piece of firewood in the market place. See what happens.

I've dropped my entire inventory in a city, nothing happened. (weapons, armor, gems, potions...)

That's why I've been specific and said to do that in Riften. Make sure Mjoll is around.
