I had read about Shadowmere in Skyrim, how it will "appear from the lake" and stuff.

I thought his entrance would be like... well, I thought it'd jump out of the lake, what with the bubbles and all. You ever played Final Fantasy X? Ever seen Ixion's entrance? Galloping out from the portal? I thought it'd be like that, just with adjusted angle. Or, at the very least it'll emerge from the lake, like a rubber duck that you put underwater.

So, when he just appear out of nowhere summoned creature style, I was... well.. I almost screamed "Beth, I am disappoint!"

This is why I don't like to read about games before I play them. I stayed almost totally away from Skyrim news before it was released. I learned my lesson with Oblivion. I was so hyped for Oblivion before it was released that practically everything about it let me down. Very little in Skyrim let me down because I had virtually no expectations.

In my case I didn't even know Shadowmere was going to be in the game, so I loved it. To me, it was a brilliant entrance.

Shadowmere's entrance was bugged for me. He got stuck halfway through emerging from the lake, and I couldn't get him out. Reminded me of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y688upqmRXo.

Had to reload it five times or so to get it to work.
