Non-unique:
Heavy - Steel for the look, though the helmet is wrong (too narrow and small.) I would prefer the steel horned helmet over the actual steel plate helmet. Like Ebony as well, though it tends to make my characters look fat

. HATE Daedric with a passion - it's something Liberace would wear for Halloween if he was in a bad mood. Too flamboyant and baroque for my tastes. Not impressed with Dragonbone (too grey and depressing.) I actually like the Ancient Nord. Granted, it's not that effective, but it's somewhat archaic look suits the game and the characters I run.
Light - Leather, easily. Plenty of protection (with smithing and enchantment enhancements), decent look, and I prefer light armors anyway. HATE Glass - looks like I'm wearing my grandmother's chandelier. Elven a close second in absolute hatred - garish and birdlike. Dragonscale is OK - still too grey (like dragonbone), but a superior aesthetic. And, despite it's relative ineffectiveness, I very much like the look of the Stormcloak Officer armor. It's neat!
Unique:
Heavy - nothing.
Light - Nightingale actually turns me off a bit. The mask is somewhat grotesque. I'd have to go with Ancient DB, despite the slightly carnival - like color pattern. Would have been better if it was jet black, or a very dark Navy (now THAT would be something.)
Mind you, I'm only talking about how the armors LOOK, not their effectiveness. If choosing for both, it's DragonScale that I prefer, though again the Ancient DB comes in a close second, followed by Stormcloak Officer, and finally Ancient Nord (the only Heavy armor that I truly like.)
