What if we could carry weapons differently?

What If you had the option to always see what you have on your character. Im sorry its a bit hard for me to explain, basically it would go by what you last used..

Lets say you can physically see a 2hander, two 1handers, and a shield at once on your person:

ex#1: Shield on back, two 1handers on your hips, while wielding a 2hander. But the Bow, shield, and 2hander takes up the same slot.

ex#2: Lets say you have a sword/board out. If you equip a 1hander in you left hand your shield get placed on your back.

Im not going to lie this is a pretty difficult system to get to work, but what are your ideas? I would love to have dual swords or a shield on my back.

Multiple weapons equipped to your character. Sounds like a Primary and Secondary weapons thing like on Dragon's Dogma. You see your character with a bow on their back and two daggers at their waist. Maybe on the next Elder Scrolls. For now, we have the favorites thingy.

That's a perfectly good idea. I especially like the fact that you would have to equip these 'slots' by making tradeoffs - in other words, you can't have a shield AND a bow. Makes perfect sense.
