A matter of looks

When you create your characters, what do you usually go for in terms of looks? Classically beautiful, dangerous-looking, a version of yourself... whatever? And are there any special features that you like/don't use?

I like to create different types of looks. I haven't made any deliberately ugly character, but I still want them to look personal rather than perfect. I love the scars and "one-eyes", but haven't used the dirt or war paint. I like the earrings/hair rings on khajiit. I don't use the most complicated hairstyles on females, because after all, they're out in the wild most of the time. As for bodyshape, I've done skinny and muscular and anything in between.

Depends on what my character is meant to be. I have an Elf that is supposed to be beautiful, a Nord that is supposed to be scarred and disfigured after years of fighting, an Orc that is undead and has already begun to to rot and decompose before he was brought back to life. The works. So I don't make all my characters beautiful, nor do I make them all ugly or disfigured. For me it totally depends on what the story of the character is.
