Ressurection Schedule

I am having some trouble figuring out Alduin schedule for ressurecting named dragons. I know the sequence (south of broken fang cave, west of Rorikstead, west of Anga's Mill) but I am having some problems with figuring out the timing. I went to the first site right after Kynesgrove but Alduin was not there yet. It seems like it has been about a month since then and I have not yet done anything with Diplomatic Immunity and finally Alduin has shown up to do his thing. It seems like it took a very long time.

Has anybody figured out what his schedule is, not just in relation to the quest line, but how long after completion of each stage?

Some of the Dragon hunting quests don't start until after Diplomatic Immunity, that might be something else that triggers these.

TBH, I worried not about the Burial Sites, as those dragons generally only arise if you approach the site. I only took out one other dragon from a Burial site, but I ignored the rest of them. If you worried about gettng enough Dragon Souls, don't, the game will throw plenty of dragons at you.

I don't know if there's a schedule as such or if it has to do with how many times you pass by a place before something triggers it. I was past level 50 on my last character, a quest or two away from finishing the Civil War, and I'd finished A Blade In The Dark all the way back when I first joined a side. It was many weeks if not months of in-game time and the first resurrection still had not happened... but I had only passed by that spot once or twice at most since seeing the one at Kynesgrove in the MQ.

On previous characters following much the same "career" as far as quests and factions, all three of them happened before I ever got close to finishing the war, but for some reason I used the roads west of Whiterun and up through Rorikstead a lot more - probably because I was also finishing up other quests that took me into Falkreath and the Reach a lot more often.

And I was playing the CW on the Stormcloak side, which meant I was going back and forth to Windhelm a lot and it didn't take long for the one by Anga's Mill to happen either. In fact I was leaving Windhelm and still crossing the bridge out of the city and could see it happening all the way from there.

I read somewhere that it's also possible for them to be resurrected without you witnessing the scene, in which case the dragons involved will hang around the area and attack stuff (including you) until someone kills them. I suspect this is true because on one character I'm positive I approached the mound near Anga's Mill once and found it already open, and I had never seen the resurrection. While I was still there scratching my head a dragon attacked and it turned out to the be named dragon who was buried there.
