Every time I try to run skyrim it switches to windowed mode, I've checked and unchecked the the in windowed mode checkbox, and edited the ini files to manually choose fullscreen, I've even re-installed skyrim, Steam, and my graphic drivers, all to no avail, anyone have any ideas as to what might be forcing my game to run in windowed mode and how to fix it?

Make sure you get the latest drivers straight from the nVidia or AMD website. Don't rely on the driver that windows gives you.

Also, motherboards have drivers too. They control the PCIE-bus, your audiocard on the motherboard, and a few other things (ethernet or wifi interface, etc). Find out exactly what motherboard you have, and download the latest drivers for your mobo. If you have a laptop, I guess the laptop vendor should be able to supply you similar drivers (Acer, HP, whatever).
