Make a character that uses spears. I don't find it that hard to roleplay a character using spears.

i'll make a traditional knight covered in plate that uses spears + sword and shield, and he will hunt dragons in his trusty steed piercing their hearts with his mighty spear &--#62;D :drag:

wait what? you may not like them and that's fine but they are not useless, spears are the most used weapon in any ancient/medieval armies, MUCH more than swords because they offer a strategic advantage, also they are totally NOT out of place, Argonians are know master spearmen in the lore, and nords/redguards/imperials/bretons are also know to largely use spears as the core of their armies (once again, the lore)

Spears should be used while blocking with a shield. And then maybe long spears, throwing spears and halberds? that would be awesome.

In no particular way. It will just be a choice the character makes. I don't roleplay the spear part, that is just a weapon.

I hope they will have longer attack range then the all the other melee weapons. So that if you stay out of range, you could avoid getting hit at all.

Saying that it is a "Lie from Todd" is very, very ignorant. Perhaps when the game was released, or whenever he was interviewed on the subject, there were no plans at all for spears. But, since then people have demanded them relentlessly. Bethesda is pretty good about giving the players what they want, within reason.

I'll probably not use them. I've always been more for swords, especially the one-handed varieties. I dunno, I don't really 'feel' spears, so to say.

Defending him is even more asinine. Spears are "Impossible to implement due to engine limitations." How vague can you get? Though don't get me wrong, I am pleased to see that he has opened his eyes and actually somewhat looked into the issue.

Bethesda scrapped the whole idea of fixing weapons a while ago. I'd be surprised if it came back.

I won't use them.

I can understand that there are many people waiting anxiously for Spears, but they don't intrigue or tempt me at all. For my Assassin's I have Daggers, Bows, and Longswords. For my Heavy Armor Tank character, I have 2H Greatswords.

Spears are not a niche role that I need filled.
