My current ps3 has died and in a few pay checks i will be getting a new one
my current one was going to be painted and changed but now its dead i have to wait
now how would i paint the ps3 in the first place
second is it possible to change the led's in the ps3
third could i change the fans inside the ps3 to ones with led's or something similar?
finally, how could i get a stencil of the assassins creed logo, its my favorite ps3 game and i want my ps3 to resemble it

Cosmetic mods to the exterior of consoles is fine for discussion on these boards. Interior appearance mods are OK to discuss, just be aware that any changes inside the unit may void the warranty. If you are out of warranty, then this may not be a concern. The OP is asking about cosmetic appearance mods, that is why this thread stays open.

At no time is discussion of modding a console's software, firmware or hardware to allow software loads, game loads or other things that get around the DRM restrictions on the console allowed here. Just in case anyone wanted to pop in here to open up that can of worms.

I have no idea how the process of modding a PS3 like that works or how much it would cost. However I'd say that if it's relatively cheap then it's pretty convenient you now have a practice PS3 to try it out on first before you do it to the new one.

(Granted just having it working would be even better, but hey, gotta see the silver lining in things.)
