At the end of this month I'm going to be spending $900+ on upgrading my rig. Current specs are:
- AMD FX-4100
- EVGA GeForce GTX 550ti
- Gigabyte 970A-D3
- 8gb (2x 4) GSkill Ripjaws RAM
- Seagate 500gb HDD
I'm only upgrading my CPU, GPU, and Motherboard and I am switching over to Intel for their PCI-E 3.0 advantage. Here's what I'm getting:
- Intel i5-2500k
- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130824 (4gb VRAM, not 2)
What kind of performance should I expect with this new setup? Currently Skyrim runs on Ultra at about 35-60fps with W.A.T.E.R. mod and some other mods that could slightly effect performance, but nothing like the *Sharpshooters ENB. I'll have the GPU set to "Single Display Performance Mode" and the power set to "Prefer Maximum Performance" via. Nvidia Control Panel. I'll overclock stuff later if I have to.
I'm also going to double my RAM by buying the same 2x 4 GSkill sticks again. If you can suggest anything better for roughly the same price off the top of your head, please let me know! Thanks!
*Will I be able to play 60+ fps with the Sharpshooters ENB active with my new build?
