I see other similar thread has come to it's limit, but I have bit different thing to point out.

As person who's been in MMO world for six years now, I highly hope there will be sub fee for playing TESO. Because if it doesn't it will become just another free MMO with things like;
1. Able to buy armor and weapons by real money.
2. Buy gold by real money.
3. Probably weapon skins, with improvements for real money.
4. Some extra spells, real money.
5. Extra advantages for real money.

It would become a game where you are as good as much you pay for it. It wouldn't matter how good you are in gameplay if you run into someone who can obliterate you with one swing of his axe, or one arrow, spells, punch, trap, etc, and you are the same level. It would be a gameplay killer, and at the end of a day, you would have only people who spend loads of $ on top, and you will never see a fair fight with them.

Many complained when Blizzard announced there will be a monthly fee for their game, but even with it, they've become one of the lead MMO's till this day.

That is why it would be great to have a monthly fee for this. Nothing comes for free in life, and I'd rather spend 5-15$ a month and have balanced game experience with everyone, than play it for "Free" and have people who spend more than 100$ a month who will wipe the floor with me by pressing one button. Free MMO's are the most expencive ones if you wanna be good in it and have a proper fight.

Reason why I'm posting this, is because some people who didn't play MMO's before fail to understand this concept, and it would be pointless for them to encourage Beth into something that they will regret later on.
Truth is, at the end, I doubt our plea's would change Beth's mind about this, for whatever they decide it will be done as they will, not by our opinion (which is normal and understandable). But yeah, keep this in mind because it might break on your back one day, and you will be the ones who wanted it.

There is a huge discrepancy in quality, service, and support between games with sub fees and ones living off whether people feel like spending money to wear aviators in game. A sub price says to me that a studio is confidant that they're product is good, and worth $15 a month, but when they switch to f2p, its as if they've given up on their game. ESO looks to be really good, and I would be very surprised if there wasn't a sub fee(unpleasantly so).

Not every F2P game requires you to pay to advance in the game.

Some such as LOTRO, the stuff on the store is only essential beyond a certain point. Quest packs (For the higher level areas), extra inventory space, currency cap unlock, trait slot unlocks. The rest is stuff like cosmetic outfits, buffs, ingrediant packs (Single use items for use in place of ingame ingredients) and crafting recipes for more unique items.

You can even earn masses of store points in game through the deeds system.

Some F2P's are rip offs I'll admit. Forcing you to purchase higher level equipment, remove level caps etc. But the image of F2P games forcing you to buy stuff from the store in order to play is a well off the mark generalization. Not all are like that.

But should also point out that most F2P games also offer subscriptions anyway. Subscribing gets you a huge chunk of the store stuff. Using LOTRO as another example, subscribing gets you all the quest packs (Minus the main expansions), removes the currency cap, unlocks all the trait slots, unlocks the destiny points system, unlocks the swift travel (Additional destinations for auto horse travel) system. Do you got for the benefit of having everything unlocked straight off for the monthly fee or just purchase as and when needed?

F2p is essentially a trial system in most cases. You can download and play for free and only spend money for stuff you want and when you want it, rather than a monthly fee.

On the other hand, I've played quite a few subscription based mmos where I paid that monthly fee and for what? The only new content came as expansions that had to be purchased and months would go by and no new content would drop. Heck, look at SW Galaxies, they ignored their long term loyal subscribers and rolled over to make the game easier for new players. (Spent months grinding to unlock Jedi and even more months to advance it? You wasted your time, you can now start the game as one)

A subscription based system doesn't automatically ensure the game will be good. A well made F2P game will be just as good as a well made Subscription based game.

Both systems have just as many pros and cons as the other.

the day TESO will offer real bonuses like that with money, well that will be the day i stop playing TESO.

Any game that offers adventage by the developers with money is a game that i wont touch, ever.

Monthly fee to play the game and nothing else.
