Save file increases significantly

Recently, I've installed Dawnguard and Hearthfire on my modded Skyrim (which ran pretty good until now) plus a few other mods (including Immersive Patrols, WARZONES and Populated Cities, which I later disabled in hope to fix my problem, yet it didn't work). However, after a while, when I reached the part where I rescued Serana, I noticed that my game started working bad. It starts freezing for a few moments about 4 times a minute, the loading time while saving or changing location has increased by 10-20 seconds and the game crashes after about 5-10 minutes. Also, the worst part is that the size of my save file increased from 12 MB to 70 MB - in about one-two hours of gameplay!

Besides disabling the mods mentioned above, I don't know what else to do. Do I need to uninstall even more mods (although most of them I use at the moment didn't cause any problems before)? Here's a pic of my current order of mods, maybe something's wrong: http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/4434/skiorder.png

Perhaps my Dawnguard/Hearthfire DLCs are not working correctly? I don't know what to do. Should I reinstall Skyrim? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Thank you Inki for being the first to reply. First off, sorry for posting this in the wrong section. I'm new to this forum and didn't take enough time to look where exactly I should post this. As for your solution, thank you. I hoped that I won't need to reinstall the game and revert to an older save, but if that's the only way to play the game again, all right. I'll wait for more replies before doing that though.

Firstly, this question is better asked in the Mods section. Perhaps you might consider asking a moderator to transfer it there, or perhaps they might even do that of their own accord. People there might be better able to comment on your specific mods.

Secondly, disabling mods is not necessarily sufficient. In some cases, where the mod might include loose script or animation files in your Data folder, it is not disabled until those files have been deleted.

Thirdly, even if a mod is fully uninstalled, some elements of it may be permanently baked into your save, and there is currently no way remove them. You should ideally revert back to both a save and a mod configuration from before any issues began to emerge.

Fist thing I would do would be to disable all mods and see if that fixes the issue. One or more of your modes may not play well with Dawngaurd. If that does fix the problem the next step I would take would be to start adding modes one a time to see which one cause the problem.

Ehh with Skyrim save game file could actually increase after uninstalling a mod just as easily.

If you have been installing and uninstalling lots of mods that could be the reason. Do you have a long history of save game files - can you look at when it started then see what mods were both installed and uninstalled?

Did you happen to uninstall Sounds of Skyrim - Civilization? That is notorious for causing that problem. Other mods could in theory cause it as well, but SoS Civilization is the only one I've heard of thus far. Due to the way Skyrim's scripting engine works, certain scripts (including those from mods) become embedded into your actual save file, which can cause all sorts of things to go wrong if the mod they're dependent on is uninstalled, such as the bloating issue. Once your save becomes bloated, it's unsalvageable; you'll have to find an earlier save or start a new one.
