Don't want to be a werewolf but want to be a companion?

I ve joined the companions but I now have a choice to decide to become/have werewolf powers. Do I have to become a werewolf to continue with the companions quest line? I really don't want to become a werewolf but I want to continue with the companions. What can I do?
