Greetings,

I've been having random CTD's right off the bat with my game and I can't stream it or anything because of it. Here's a video on what's going on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5lGkbttnfA

Now if you noticed at the start, some spell went off that causes fire to fall from the sky. Everytime I start a new game, that happens; even if there's no Dragon. Usually it crashes right after that goes off, but for some reason in this video it didn't. Here's my computer specs:

You probably have:
1) Corrupted mod (or not working), maybe outdated which was not resaved with a newer CK versions.
2) Incompatible mods
3) Conflicting mods
4) Altered settings in ini files
5) Simply too many mods

Do you really need all those and absolutely can't live without all of them?

Restore ini files with default ones, then use binary search to find the reason- uninstall half of mods, start new game, check for crash. Repeat that process to narrow possible mods that crash your game.
Also what is the size of your papyrus log?

I might be able to live without some, but yeah, would rather figure out if it could be fixed first. And I honestly have no idea what a papyrus log is, care to elaborate? I'm clueless.

Yeaaaaaahhhh...uh. Still clueless...

When you say clueless do you mean you still have no idea how to turn on Papyrus logging or do you mean the log make no sense to you? If it's the first, go to Documents/My Games/Skyrim. Backup your Skyrim.ini first. Under the [Papyrus] section add these 3 lines,


bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

If "[Papyrus]" doesn't exist you can add it at the bottom. Also because the link Zilav put up talks about just creating a ini file called SkyrimCustom.ini you can open notepad and put in

[Papyrus]
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

Save it as SkyrimCustom. Just rename the file from SkyrimCustom.txt to .ini and move it to the Skyrim folder.

Honestly I have both because I was confused when setting it up. After you do enable logging you need to play for a bit. Eventually a new folder will be created in Documents/My Games/Skyrim called Logs (took a bit for mine to finally get created, so play as much possible, just restart on crash and play some more.) If you have a mod to Skip the Bethesda intro (didn't read your massive list) disable that for now. Eventually in the Logs/Script folder logs will be in there, with Papyrus.0.log being the newest. Open that with notepad++ as default notepad will look crazy. It will shed a lot of light on what your game is doing behind the scenes and a lot of time the last thing logged is what caused the crash. There is people on the forum who can help you understand the log better.

Also some people have found improvements from this forum. forums.nexusmods. com/index.php?/topic/633229-less-ctds-maybe-none (i can't post links yet so you'll have to backspace the". com") This also just goes in your Papyrus section in the two ini files i talked about.

Also if you haven't download and ran BOSS from skyrim.nexusmods. com/mods/6 (i can't post links yet so you'll have to backspace the". com") do it. While its not always perfect, it does a pretty good job of getting your load order correct and will let you know if you have any dirty mods and how to clean them.

Also if you removed any mods, make sure you removed them via their instructions on the mod page. You might wanna reinstall and see if your game is more stable. A missing mod can cause trouble as your save file will always look for it even if its uninstalled.

Once you get the logs up, smarter people will be able to really help you understand what is going on with your game. And you might just have to start removing all your mods until you get stable again. Then do the 31 day sleep/clean and then start adding them back slowly. It's a total pain

I was having a lot of crashing with the latest iHUD. A shame, I love the mod...
To test, load save, and immediately open Esc menu a few times. This is where it crashed most often for me. Otherwise pretty random.
If not that, I'm really not sure. Good luck.
