Something I've noticed which bugs me...

Post » Thu Nov 08, 2012 3:18 pm

Whenever you enter a shop or tavern, you never have to wait your turn for anything. You can just talk with the bartender/merchant straight away. I think it would add a bit more to the immersion if you had to maybe wait, what, 20 seconds or so to purchase a product in a shop, as you'd have other people browsing and buying apart from yourself, or have a bartender say "I'll be with you as soon as I can, just serving this other customer".

Would just give a town a bit more life. For example, you could have a couple in a jewelry/clothing shop ("Honey, you've already got ten pairs of shoes, do you really need more"), an alchemist in an ingredient shop, a mercenary looking at armours and weapons or even a kid pleading his dad to buy him his first bow etc. Anything, really. Even just general townsfolk browsing a general goods store.

Wondered if people felt the same?

Never really thought of it until now, I guess it'd be pretty neato.

I don't know how difficult it would be to implement, as I have no knowledge of the programming required for something like this. Just thought it may be something small and cool to add.

Doesn't bug me a lot, but I've noticed the same thing and yeah, having other customers inside the various shops would be a nice addition and give towns more life...

A funny thought would be a bug placing everybody in the shop haha but really, I reckon it would be a nice touch.

I would just kill them if they made me wait.

You'd be forced to kill the shop-keeper to get rid of any witnesses. You'd be giving yourself more trouble than anything haha

I feel like this wouldn't work, simply because you would hear the same things being said over and over again after a while. You can potential go into a shop an infinite number of times, but there would be a very finite number of people that would be in the shop, and a finite amount of things that would be said. Before long everyone would be complaining that they heard the couple bickering over shoes a thousand times too many. It would be like how the guards just recycle the same how ever many lines every time you go near them.

It would be cool, but I just don't think it could work in this game.

Yeah, I had thought about that. It's one of Skyrim's elements which negate the chances for additions like this. However, agreeing with that you said, it would be a very hard task as only a certain amount of recording can be done.

Too much realism can be a bad thing...

Agreed but I'm not talking about having to wait 20 real-time minutes

I actually like this idea quite a bit, yet, I know myself, I would save the game then, I would sneak cast fury on the other customers far, far too often lol.

I love starting murder brawls in town.
