Redguard Trademark

Post » Fri Nov 09, 2012 7:11 pm

So, I have heard recently that Beth trademarked "Redguard" as downloadable conent.
Is there truth to it?
If so, what does that mean? The next DLC is about helping the Redguards against the Thalmor maybe?
I don't know exactly what Hammerfell has to do with Skyrim, though. Not lore-wise, gut game-wise. The game is called Skyrim after all.

Do you have a source? If this is indeed true, I would totally love to travel to the sand dunes of Hammerfell.

Someone mentioned it in the "PC and PS3 announcement" thread.
I have no idea where to look it up, that's why I have created this thread. Where are those trademarks listed?

Nope, actually it's the trailer for the TES Adventures : Redguard. Pretty old stuff.

According to the United States Patent & Trademark Office, "Redguard" was filed for trademark on March 10, 2011.

...I suppose the old addage of "Google it" would be appropriate.

Unless there is an "unknown" Tower ( See http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Towers ) I highly doubt the Thalmor would have any reason to go to Hammerfell at this point, seeing how the Throat of the World is one of the very few "Towers" left.

Before this gets out of hand, common speak has it this was for a webcomic, not DLC.

It does say computer software.. and it does have the same script as the other DLC's.. but I'm gonna say it's not DLC if it was trademarked months before Skyrim came out.

I guess they wouldn't use the exact same name as an existing game again. They did put Daggerfall up for download for it's 15-year anniversery, and Redguard will be 15 years old next year. Maybe they're thinking of doing something with that.

downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices

Heh... maybe we will be able to download the adventure game "Redguard"? But that sounds like DLC (in the sense of add-on) to me...
This is a great mystery to me, to be honest.

Wasn't Skyrim trademarked like a month after OB came out? I would hate going to Hammerfell for a DLC but I would love to go there in a full length game.

Not another human province.
But Hammerfell is at least the most interesting human one, in my opinion...

If actually love that too, however it was trademarked 8 months before Skyrim was released. It's not beyond the realms of possibility, I guess.

What a puzzlement.

I think Skyrim was trademarked in mid-2010.
