Yeah wards all the time when fighting spellcasters.
But you said you're a pure mage and you have 200 hp? Thats weird.
Every pure mage ive ever made, i go full magicka, nothing else. (for example, the mage im on right now is level 37 with 790 mana, 130 hp and 130 stamina - stamina and hp are only up cus im wearing the gauldur amulet otherwise they'd be 100)
I mean it shouldnt make it much harder, except i can imagine you probably cant keep wards up terribly long with that small mana pool.
Anyway, theres some work arounds for some magic resistance. Because it seems you're having trouble against other mages, right?
Heres a couple options for you.
1.If you goto riften and go into the temple, talk to the dark elf there and you will get a mission. Follow every step of that mission, and once it is finally complete you will get a Permanent Bonus of 15% magic resistance.
2. The Lord standing stone (its southwest of dawnstar im pretty sure) give you a permanent bonus of 50 armor and 25% magic resistance. (only permanent as long as you keep that standing stone, if you take another standing stone ability you will lose it)
3. The Atronach standing stone gives you a 50% spell absorption (which means 50% of the time the spell will absorb doing no damage and at the same time regenerate magicka). BUT the stone also gives you a -100% mana regeneration penality. (You can off set this is you get the two perks in restoration for 50% mana regen and wear some sort of gear like the Morokei dragon priest mask and mage robes)
4. Once you get 100 alteration (this skill levels up REALLY FAST. If you just use telekinesis on random items it will skyrocket up fast) get the atronach perk which gives you an additional 30% spell absorption. This will help out immensely.
5. There are 3 alteration perks that give you 10% magic resistance per perk, get all 3 and you got 30% permanently.
You can mix and match all of these options as well (besides option 2 and 3, you can only get one or the other) to make you really badass.
Any non breton can get a permanent 70% magical resistance, with a 30% chance to absorb spells, OR a 45% resistance with an 80% chance to absorb spells.
Any breton character can get a 95% resistance with a 30% chance to absorb spells, OR a 70% spell restance with an 80% chance to absorb spells. Though i think that magic resistance caps at 85% so anything higher is useless, though i could be wrong on that.
Either way, if you do any of those, you should be able to make any mage character that can shrug off other magical attacks.
