Definitely. I know it's plenty devastating with the right magicka reducing enchantments, but they're difficult and time consuming to amass.

Yup. It just feels like weapons and magic were balanced by two different groups of people I don't know how such a huge power discrepancy got into the game. Destruction is fine if you rely on summons and frenzy to do most of your killing and use it to impact people who get too close to you and whittle down their health. As part of a complete mage package its fine but by it self it svcks bad. It just seems like it should be a primary skill like one-hand and not a utility skill like alteration but it simply is.

IMO Beth should:

1) Get rid of that infamous enchanting-smithing-alchemy skill loophole.

2) The maximum spell cost reduction can only be around 66% or something like that. 100% cost reduction is simply ridiculous. What the hell is the point of eliminating an aspect (magicka pool) of the game so that player could spam that damned spell to death, huh?

3) then, create a reasonable scale for Destruction spells.
