What do you think about a Mage\Necromancer Archer Illus

Post » Sun Nov 11, 2012 7:05 am

  • Alchemy (effective use of all kinds of poisons)
  • Illusion (effective use of Courage for your Lydia\Mercenary and Fury for enemies or Fear)
  • Conjuration (for Bound Bow and focus on raising the dead only)
  • And last but not least, staff.
  • Staff? Well, yeah. Just using the Bound Bow can become too repetitive so I add a bit flavor in the soup.
1. Use poison that make the target weak against fire or shock (whatever) on your Bound Bow, hit the target.
2. Put up your staff that does fire or shock (whatever) damage, boom-boom.

Oh, and only put points into Magicka to make it more interesting.
And 0 points into Archery as you will use the dead to aid you and Illusion spells -
so there is NO need for more power thru perks in Archery! Alchemy poisons should be good enough + 20% increase damage within Conjuration.

So any suggestions or feedback for this "class"? Hehe.

I played a character very similar to this and it was a very powerful build and very fun to play. I didn't rely on a companion though. Instead I used conjuration for helpers and assisted them with my conjured bow. I used Illusion to turn the enemies onto each other or to calm them whenever they turned towards me. I also had high sneak so I could arrive undetected, fury the enemies to attack each other, send in my conjured helper, then finish off stragglers with my bow. I also used Illusion for invisibility if I needed extra stealth. There are so many things you can do with this build that it is extremely flexible.

If you use illusion + conjuration it really doesn't matter what your other skills are unless your in a dwemer/dragur ruin or fighting a dragon. The alchemy focus will definitely take care of dragons (I had a character that used only daggers and sneak with no one/two-hand or archery and was able to use alchemy to two shot dragons). For dragur ruins you can always just re-raise the dragur and plink away with your staff. Dwemer ruins are going to be a serious pain with this character until you get master of the mind or can summon a demora lord.

Basically ok vs dragur/dragons, terrible vs dwemer constructs will destroy anything else is my verdict.

(About the staff)
I really like this idea because I'm not been very happy with Destruction so far, so I thought I start over again for many other reasons as well.

But you know, using a staff that does fire damage instead of a Destruction spells kinda give me more to do as well, I need to collect souls in gems and such to keep my staff working.
To me, that kinda enriches the game, more to do, you know.
