Forelhost - the greatest dungeon in Skyrim?

Post » Sun Nov 11, 2012 3:15 am

It is huge, it is the most non-linear dungeon, if you go to it at a higher level, you fight more draugr death lords and draugr scourges than in every other dungeon combined it seems, it tells an awesome story, the enemies come at you in packs, and the treasure it yields is among the best imo.

What do you guys think of Forelhost?

You're missing out. Just make sure you don't go in overopowered. Keep it a challenge and it is probably the funnest dungeon in Skyrim.

Interesting that you should bring this up. I was thinking about starting a thread on the hardest dungeons in the game and this was one of my top candidates. In fact, I just did it. This time, however, I took the easy route and didn't dive down to get the key, I just picked the lock. I wish they had made it so you had to go get the key.

And it does have an interesting story. And one of the tougher boss fights.

And one of the tougher boss fights.

You can make the draugr appear before the boss though ;)

dont tell me about it. I did it on lvl 13 expert with nothing but steel and iron equipment.
took me 4 hours to clear it, and one of those hours was to defeat you know who.

Oh Yea it's my favorite too. I love the lore. Not only that, but the crypt doesn't play to your advantage.

Did you kill the fake before entering? It's one of only 2 chances to get that armor in game and the satisfaction of seeing through his lies is equally rewarding :)

I liked this dungeon. I'd like even more the chance to start a mercenary company and run it from there. Forelhost is one of the best intact Nordic ruins and its not designed as a tomb but as a fortress. It'd make a great stronghold in my opinion.
