Favorite Sad Songs?

Post » Mon Nov 12, 2012 6:37 pm

So I have a playlist that has my favorite "sad" songs, as in they have sad melodies or sad lyrics (or both!?!?), and I was wondering if anyone else has any favorites?

In no particular order:
01. Staind - [Break The Cycle CD1 #11] Outside (Original LP Version)02. Chevelle - [Wonder What's Next (Deluxe Version) CD1 #14] Black Boys On Mopeds03. Staind - [Staind [Explicit] CD1 #10] Something To Remind You04. Linkin Park - [Minutes To Midnight [Explicit] CD1 #07] Hands Held High05. Alter Bridge - [Blackbird CD1 #10] Watch Over You06. Rise Against - [Appeal to Reason CD1 #10] Hero Of War07. Nine Inch Nails - [Year Zero CD1 #16] Zero-Sum08. Alter Bridge - [One Day Remains CD1 #07] In Loving Memory09. Johnny Cash - [American IV: Man Comes Around CD1 #02] Hurt Album Version10. Otherwise - [True Love Never Dies CD1 #14] Heaven (feat. Ashley Costello)11. Hurt - [Goodbye To The Machine CD1 #04] World Ain't Right Feat. Shaun Morgan12. Ra - [From One CD1 #11] Walking And Thinking13. Stone Sour - [Come What(ever) May CD1 #12] Zzyzx Rd. (Pop Version)14. 10 Years - [Division CD1 #13] Proud of You15. 10 Years - [Minus The Machine (Deluxe Edition) CD1 #03] Forever Fields (Sowing Season)16. Projected - [Human CD1 #09] Stella

This thread also helps me reach my 2 topics every year quota, so that's exciting.

EDIT: Apparently the code box does syntax highlighting? Kind of cool I suppose.

Gary Jules - Mad World/thread

Yeah, I like that one. Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZFiTRIWaK0 by My Dying Bride. Extremely bad idea to listen to that when you're depressed.

I thought http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2b632ubAVs was a rather melancholic tune as I was playing through Shadow Hearts 2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32l9go1e1HU from The Green Mile. Again, makes depression much worse.

Oh yeah, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGtN3lpI2f4 from Shutter Island. Works great with Rainy Mood.

Aaaand last one, I swear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtx3vQI1Rk4 from Shawshank Redemption. One of the most heartbreaking movie scenes of all time, IMO, and the song accompanying it is intensely sad.

As for the topic, I can't listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0Z3SoRPbS4 anymore, it's connected to many sad memories, although it's an amazing song.

Too many sad songs out there but a couple pop in mind at the moment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibb2xBD2hLY by Hector Lavoe which translates into "What a mess" in english
-Hurt (the johnny cash cover version)
-Wish you were here by Pink floyd and See you on the other side by Ozzy are sad after you lose a loved one
-Mad World (the gary jules cover version)
-Tears in heaven by Eric clapton (any parent feels his pain on that one)

I could go on and on

Mad World+RainyMood, but it seems that was mentioned already, hah!

To add my own input, uhh, how about El Paso by Marty something. My brain is too muddled to think atm(its not really sad inducing, but just sad for the main guyhs perspective)

Yes it's a Final Fantasy song. It's also one of the most deeply emotional songs I've ever heard.
