What makes you think Todd is responsible for everything good in the ES series?

Might have to do with the fact that I believe him to be a genius, and that he is the visionary behind the series. That he has proven he can lead a team of developers and inspire them to create an outstanding product. Not to mention the fact that without Todd Howard, Morrowind would never have been, and Bethesda wouldn't exist today.

I just don't see the series being anything other than a bad Obsidian-esque rehash without him, and without the main Bethesda Softworks dev team.

I feel you are giving far too little credit to the other developers. The most celebrated creative minds behind Morrowind, as far as I can tell, were Michael Kirkbride, Kurt Kuhlmann and Ken Rolston. If you love the Elder Scrolls series for its lore and backstory, then Todd has very little to do with it. If you love it for the gameplay mechanics, then you have a bit more of a point, but there are so many other games out there that honestly do computer RPGs better in terms of pure mechanics. In general, I think that it is pretty ridiculous to claim that Todd makes TES what it is.

Sorry for responding to this topic. It is silly.

And what about the game developers, designers, artists, programmers, coders, writers, sound engineers and designers and numerous others who put hour upon hour into making these games?

Yes Todd Howard is great, but he'd be nothing without his teams behind him working tirelessly.

Its possible he doesnt know much about making MMOs. Matt Firor does as he was involved in Dark Age of Camelot. As long as they stay true to the series, this may actually go better than if Todd Howard was directing.

I think your giving Todd too much credit. He is a minor meme out there anyways, and that's not completely baseless.

You don't know who Todd Howard is? Have you played any of the TES games? I know Todd isn't as high and mighty as people like to make him out to be. But seriously you don't who Todd Howard is? Wow

Elder Scrolls was just a generic fantasy game until Todd Howard took the reigns.

True. He was the one who proposed a lot of the ideas for Morrowind. If it wasn't for him, TES wouldn't be as popular as it would be today.
