Would be nice if you got some power at the end

Post » Tue Nov 13, 2012 3:02 am

After you've saved the continent from a war and saved the entire galaxy what do you get? A house in white run that doesn't even have a proper roof. After you complete these storylines you should get much more. I was thinking maybe the option to raise your own city and become a jarl or maybe command the imperial armies and be able to have options to attack certain eleven targets or something. What do you think and what would you want as a reward? In oblivion you got a nice set of armour.

At the end you can summon a dragon, I thought it was pretty much nice reward.

Also you could summon a warrior from Sovngarde once you beat Alduin.

Not really that big a deal once you're a lvl 81 Demi-god :P

Being a level 81 demigod isn't fun, to start with. IMO

I think summoning a dragon and a warrior spirit is rather alright as a reward. Better than a castle or something cheesy like that.
And if you don't like the house in Whiterun, buy another one.

In Skyrim I didn't feel I needed any other reward for saving the world. My Dragonborn understood that if Alduin was not defeated the world would end, having the world not end was reward enough for him. Since no other mortal could stop Alduin, it was his duty to stop him, no amount of gold or property could justify it.
However It annoyed me in Oblivion, when the chancellor was talking to me about finding a new Emperor. Without me and my errand running abilities , Martin could not have stopped Dagon, the fact he did not even consider me for Emperor was insulting.
In Skyrim though, I was not bothered by lack of financial or power reward.

Well I don't know but we all know dragons love hoarding so maybe Alduin could have some sort of chamber of riches where you could maybe get something unique and a lot of gold. Who knows?

Alduin is a time god. He doesn't have time (heh, irony) for hoarding petty mortal treasures, he's too busy traveling through space and time, eating Kalpas and doing other time god stuff.

Well I guess , but what I'm trying to get at is that I would personally have more.

I've only done the summoning just for fun. I've never needed either the dragon nor the warrior.

I liked how in OB you got a statue, and a special set of armor, but I could see how doing a statue in Skyrim might be a problem if you hadn't finished the Civil War quests yet, because who would make a statue of you? The new Queen or the new King?

But seriously I do hate that it seems like nothings changed after the MQ is over.

If you played through the Civil War and Main questlines and ended up with nothing but Breezehome... UR DOING IT RONG. :P Either that or your Dragonborn needs a much better PR rep and/or business manager.

After you complete these storylines you should get much more. I was thinking maybe the option to raise your own city and become a jarl

A Jarl is only a Jarl because he/she rules a hold, and all nine holds of Skyrim are already spoken for. Particularly in a time of civil war, when the loyalty of the Jarls is of such importance, I don't see one side or the other "rewarding" one of their supporters by taking his/her land away to cobble together a hold for some upstart who 1) may not be a Nord and 2) even if he/she is a Nord, doesn't come from one the prominent noble bloodlines. Rulers in Skyrim are drawn from what is apparently a very small pool of eligible applicants and lineage matters.

or maybe command the imperial armies

Far more likely than becoming a Jarl, but still fairly boring IMO. The kinds of rewards you're asking for involve a lot of sitting on thrones and/or at desks delegating all the actual fun to other people. There's a reason the game keeps you in a position where you're always the one being told to go do something, and not the one telling others to go do it.

and be able to have options to attack certain eleven targets or something.

Which eleven targets did you have in mind? :P

What do you think and what would you want as a reward? In oblivion you got a nice set of armour.

I make my own armor at home. But, hey, if I can still find a free mannequin to hang it on, I'm not gonna turn it down. :)
