Currently using Realistic Needs and Diseases but there's something about eating a whole cheese wheel and calling it a filling meal that just doesnt do it for me. Imp's more complex needs (from what I've read is buggy) so I'm wondering if anyone knows of any alternatives.

An cheese wheel is an filling meal in real world. Do not see the issue.

I just recently installed it for my current playthrough and it works fine for me.. I've got it on basic mode because I don't feel like keeping track of a whole lot of things. I don't know of any alternatives, but you could try it and see if it works for you as I'm actually enjoying it myself.
My timescale is set on 5 and what I want each food item to feel unique and not interchangable
this is the best one for me, good and simple, bugfree, perfect http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26228
Looks like you didnt read what I said on my OP. But yea I know it's good but I want something more complex since a timescale of 5 makes Realistic Needs and Diseases to easy. And if a game is too easy for me I become hella bored.
A filling meal, to me, is something that contains macronutrients such as proteins, carbs and healthy fats as well as some essential micronutrients.
That is a healthy meal, but a whole cheese wheel will keep you from starving. Skyrim is a game, and the intent of the realistic needs mod was to keep things simple.
