Halo 4 vs. Black Ops 2

Post » Wed Nov 14, 2012 5:34 am

Before I begin, I must say that this will be a NON-FLAME WAR, and will have educated opinions which will oppose others and improve their own. I know both games vary immensely, but I think, with the recent release of Black Ops 2, that we can talk about which one is more PERSONALLY likable.

Now, my friend has been trying to convince me to get Halo 4 since it came out. I like the story and multiplayer game modes but I don't know if I like the gameplay and feel of it enough to get into the universe. On the other hand, I haven't owned a Call of Duty game since Black Ops, and although Modern Warfare 3 was really bad in my opinion, Black Ops 2 looks much more promising. I like the gameplay (for the most part) excluding and forgiving the lack of vehicles, and it looks very customizable with many guns- more than Halo 4.

Both games look amazing, but which, if either, should I get in the near future?

Also, feel free to discuss the general topic of Halo 4 vs. Black Ops 2.

I have never liked Halo, and no matter how milked, simple or bad CoD may be, it can be a hell lot of fun. My opinion is therefore totally biased when I say I'd go for Black Ops 2.

Hmm... In retrospect my post doesn't exactly scream "educated"... Oh well.

:P That's okay. I meant just be respectful of others' differing opinions.

Well with your options you should get Halo 4, because a friend wants you to get it. Typically it is more fun to play multiplayer games with friends than by yourself.

Well, friends to play with won't be an issue either way.

Also you mention Halo gameplay, and not liking it. I've seen some people not like the shields and stuff like that, but they have also basically changed the controller setup to be just like Call of Duty. And their class system is sort of like BF Bad Company 2.

yeah but call me picky, I hate no ADS. Also, ugh I don't know, I can't quite put my finger on what I dislike about Halo games. I always laugh and smile when I play at my friends' houses, but maybe that's just it: playing with friends physically. I own Halo: Reach and dislike it. But when I played it at a friend's house it was much better. I just can't really see why people love Halo. I can't really justify making another purchase on these games. I guess it's too arcade (and I know CoD is very arcade too).
