So i got Meeko bought him to Solitude and my kid doesn't say anything i waited an hour nothin i move my family to my house Lakeview Manor and THEN my kid actually says something about keeping Meeko so what does this work at Hearthfire Homestead locations only or what?

My kids were living in Breezehome when they asked if they could adopt Meeko.

So they don't have to be in homestead areas for it to happen.

Normally you have to wait for a day or two for the kids to "take notice" of the dog. At least, that's what I've read in several posts here.
