I put two glass battleaxes - both as-they-come, unenchanted, unimproved - and an enchanted shield on the weapon plaque at the back of the Lakeview main hall (the room where the entrance to the cellar is). The shield has subsequently disappeared, and I don't know where. I've tried using tcl to poke inside the walls etc. but the shield is nowhere to be seen. I can always get myself a new shield from the console but it's going to get tired if I have to keep doing it!

Anyone else have this or something similar happen to them?

I had a weapon plaque eat a sword once. It has not happened since. I think it happens for the same reasons mannequins move around the game (having to do with cell renders and what renders first)

Are you sure you actually put the shield there? You did not load a previous save for some reason where you had not put the shield there yet.

Which shield was it? I would be suspicious of that Dawnguard rune shield taking a walk.

Pretty sure I put the shield there, yes. It's not in my inventory any more. I'm not in the habit of re-loading from non-quick/autosaves during a session unless I have a very good reason.

It was a generic leveled loot enchanted shield, I don't remember where I picked it up or what enchantment it had on it.
