game very slow and laggy

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 9:05 pm

Hi everyone

This is my first post here and I am a bit confused! I've installed Skyrim through steam, waited (im)patiently while it installed and got all set to play it....but I can't. I'm not even past the intro yet and the game is so slow and laggy its unplayable. (this is on the low setting)

I've looked at the min specs on the sticky thread and my laptop should cope ok.

Heres my specs:

Windows Vista
intel dual core processor (2.16 Ghz)
3 gb RAM
Direct X 10 (intel graphics card with up to 1.244Mb)

All run on an acer aspire 5735Z laptop (could that be the problem??)

so far I've tried:

using enditall
adding:
iMinMemoryPageSize=100000 and iMaxMemoryPageSize=5000000
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=1800000000

but the game is still extremely slow.

This is the first Elder scrolls game I've played and to be honest the first time I've really used my laptop for any major game so I'm a bit lost and getting frustrated with my lack of being able to figure out how to sort this and not being able to play with my new toy!

Sorry if I'm asking silly questions or posting this in the wrong area but I hope I've given enough specs and info for someone to give me a bit of help or point me in the right direction. :):)

Thanks

It has Intel GMA 4500MHD, right? No wonder it's slow. Integrated cards aren't good for gaming and this one is fairly old to boot. Too bad that you won't be able to play Skyrim, it's a great game :(

Yes, you're allowed to talk about this site. If you have doubts about your computer's performance, you can always ask in the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1406654-unofficial-will-my-pc-run-skyrim-thread-61-w-hardware-guide/ thread.

Wow is that computer from like 2002?
time to upgrade, lols.

Though i would wait for Intel's Haswell generation processors and DDR4 Ram
