Hearthfire is the last 30 day exclusive

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 6:46 pm

The 30 day exclusivity deal with Microsoft was only for the first two DLCs. Since this one is relatively low impact for PC users, in a way I'm rejoicing. It means no gut-wrenching wait filled by Youtube spoilers waiting for something I want to play and thats already out. I think this is an important silver lining.

Furthermore, Id be surprised if this DLC turned out to not have required the focus of the whole dev team. I wouldnt be surprised if the 3rd DLC is already in production. Perhaps we'll have more Skyrim sometime soon.

Oh there will still be self-important, self-entitled whiners and complainers. They have nothing better to do but [censored] about that stuff.

For the last months my feeling is exactly the opposite: skyrim mods are far superior than Beth patching/DLC still, of course there are lots of money on new official content so it usually brings what modder can't put into game(familiar voice-acting, professional sound/animations et cetera) but imo TES games are good but modding is what really makes them replayable. About this being the last timed exclusive I'm surprised I was expecting 3 exclusive DLC but I don't really care - all the fight console timed exclusive x PC modding is rubbish. Industrial business is far more complex than just blathering in forums. The ancient TES fans calling for a boycott wont afford supporting an exclusive dedicated game if Bethesda selling drops because people are paying for something else developed to be for a more general liking. I believe Bethesda is being very responsible - instead of letting it be of other corporation problem, make it our problem and lets see if we can deal with it. They are doing reasonable well imo.

I've probably mistaken several grammar rules, apologies large sentences are not my forte.

Huh thought it was three, but I cant say why I thought that :/

Yeh the wost thing with having to wait a month for Dawnguard was that the whole story/areas were spoiled for me by the time it was out for PC, and I had been avoiding the forums here as much as possible.

It definitely didn't require the whole team. Gstaff said yesterday it was a small team that did it and for what Hearthfire is that makes sense.

@Achromatis Everything I've heard is that it was only 2 dlc's. One of the moderators mentioned that yesterday as well. Now they do not work for Bethesda, I hope they have correct information.

With all that, this does make me feel better about this whole mess. (with the exception of one group of players who I still feel bad for.)

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall us bing told that the 30 day exclusivity deal applied to th first 2 EXPANSIONS. If they are calling Hearthfire an expansion, cool... but it better not cost $20. Hearthfire is like Horse Armor.

They've stated already it will cost $5, or 400 MS Points.

I just hope it hits the PS3 after 30 days. Losing out on Dawnguard svcked toes, but not getting HF would be worse.
