Release dates different by area?

Having seen that Hearthfire has been released for PC, I went over to both Steam and Beth's site to buy it, but it's not showing on Steam and on the Beth site I get a site error: "currently unavailable in your area". Does this mean that some areas won't be getting it until later? If so, when?

I think the only difference is the timezone, so it's 24hrs delay at most.

I certainly hope so, so it's noon on the fifth here now.

You should be happy you don't live in Eastern Europe... In Poland we still can't buy Dawnguard PC...

MajinYoda, I sympathize with you; it certainly isn't fair. Hearthfire still isn't available here, at almost noon on the sixth, but that doesn't compare with Poland.

I wasn't real happy with having bought the original game by pre-order, opening the box, trying to install it from disk as usual, and then finding that I'd have to wait for another month before actually playing it, because of the region in which I live. These various inequities certainly don't endear anyone to the companies involved, do they?

The price of Hearthfire is about equivalent here to a half-pint of ale, so it's not much, but the wait with no visible explanation certainly erodes one's motivation to buy. Much more so in the case of you Eastern Europeans, I'm sure.

In Poland €5 is about 25 zloty, which is a price for 2 boxes of cigarettes. Fortunately my friend is going to UK next week so he will send me Hearthfire as a Steam gift. The difference is I will have to play Skyrim in English (we have Polish dubbing) but I don't care.
IMHO Bethesda should do something with these inequities...
