Game crashes to desktop - Related to Draugr using Dragon sho

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:21 am

Hey. So i just got dawnguard, and in the Awakening quest where you enter Dimhollow crypt, I believe it is, at the point where a Restless Draugr used a dragon shout on the vampire there, the game immediately crashed to desktop.
I've saved just before that point and reloaded many times to confirm that it is indeed directly related to the dragon shout( I do not know which shout he uses). If I turn off Combat AI and kill the Draugr, I'll be fine, but that's not a viable solution at all. I can assume that this will become a huge problem if I dont fix it so I probably won't play dawnguard until I get it stable.

TL;DR: Draugr using dragonshouts makes game crash.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Oh soo thats what happen i had same issue....

I think whats happening is the sound are u setting it to 24 bit 192000hz maybe if u set to 24 bits 48000hz it wont crash to desktop or 16bits 48000...

I think its probble a sound issue i remeber when i first got skyrim it would start then it would crash to desktop and then issue was the sound made game crash to desktop.

I hope this will fix issue....

Nevermind, I fixed this issue. With a big of googling I found out that its related to not only draugr using dragon shouts, but the player aswell. Apparently something connected to the sound files. I disabled some of my sound mods called Sounds of skyrim, dungeon and outdoors and realistic thunder sound and it worked like a charm again.

Thanks Hagon, same problem here, 6 tries to confirm the issue, and I have those exact same mods.

Cheers.
