I dunno if others are experiencing this but since the latest patches and dawnguard I see now the fire logs to be almoust shiney and quite withe ... anyonesle?

That is the High-Res Texture pack doing its work. It can be fixe my downloading a certain mod on the Steam Workshop. I am not sure what it is called, but I'll look, and if I find it, I'll edit this post with the link.
