Sorry if this has been brought up before but im really pushing to get some diffrent crossbow in skyrim,the steel an the dwarven makes are getting old.I think that since bows have diffrent makes then crossbows should get the same treatment.There in the game,might as well have diffrent options.I was hoping to have them included in Hearthfire but due to it tuesday release,i doubt it will happen but maybe in a future dlc/patch.

Historically the Empire and the Dwemer were the only people to make crossbows.

Even though the Empire made them they were never widely used, so I would never expect them to be made in other forms.


And on another note, they wouldn't add content from one DLC into another, it anything different crossbow types would be in a Dawnguard update.

The only other Ones i will Allow for new crossbows are

Elven
Orc

Or just Elven

Well a few crossbows are already stronger then most bows also it doesn't make sense lorewise

Still, there should be some variants even if they come from only two sources.

I want a Daedric Crossbow.. I mean c'mon! There gotta be at least ONE Dremora who manage to get a Crossbow during the Oblivion Crisis and manage to take it to Oblivion and start making a Daedric Crossbow.. Seriously!

That doesn't mean that somebody could figure out how to make it in other materials. Maybe the snow elves got a special made crossbow by the dwarves that we must now fetch? Hermaus Mora probably know how to make a crossbow, after all, he is the knower of the unknown.

I wouldn't want to see any other races having crossbows as it would ruin the lore as only Dwemer and Imperials are supposed to have them.

The only additional crossbow I'd like to see added is a top rate Imperial crossbow made of ebony.

Aldmeri have glass as there top material as they specialise in light armor. Imperials have ebony as their top material as they specialise in heavy - makes it fair. Imperial dragon armor in Oblivion looked ebony. I personally think all ebony armors do far look Colovian as they mostly resemble armor worn by European knights

The colour of the Imperial dragon armor is black like ebony. Nothing else we know in Tamriel looks like this. Adamantium looks like steel.

The East Empire Company controls most the mining and shipping of the ebony trade and considering Imperials are best suited to heavy armor it makes sense they keep some of it back for themselves.

Not sure how this would work considering an enhance dwarven crossbow is a few points better than the dragonbone bow, and thats just on paper. It doesnt show the extra damage it does by ignoring 50 percent armor. They're powerhouses, so anything above dwarven would be redonculous. I personally am content with dwarven. It looks sweet as hell.

Hm.. I would agree with an Imperial Ebony Crossbow.. But I still want a Daedric Crossbow. Like I said, Dremoras prolly done it by now...

Imperial Ebony Crossbow will be weaker than the Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow but stronger than the normal Dwarven Crossbow. The Daedric Crossbow will be slightly stronger than the Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow.

Both the Imperial Ebony and Daedric Crossbows will NOT be Enhanced because they weren't be part of Dawnguard, which means they wont be part of the quest to unlock the ability to Enhance them...

There will be Imperial Ebony and Daedric Bolts to go with them. Imperial Ebony Bolts doing 12 points while the Daedric is 15 points. These bolts CANNOT have elemental damage due to the fact of them not being in Dawnguard, and such.

Other than that, I don't see any other types of Crossbows being made.

If I'm correct... Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow is 66 points of damage with maxed Archery + perks. Daedric Crossbow should be 70 points of damage but will not have the Enhanced ability so will prolly be slightly weaker than the Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow. The Imperial Ebony Crossbow should be around 50 - 60 points of Damage.

If the Dremora can make giant siege engines I'm sure they could figure out how to make a nasty crossbow.

There's already a mod that makes a daedric crossbow and it looked awesome.

I doubt it, as Hearthfire would then require Dawnguard.

They can still add new Crossbows in another DLC without requiring Dawnguard.

Not everybody is on the Computer Version, though.

But will they do that? No. No they would not.

How would you know?

I mean, it would be very simple to do. Just copy the animations from Dawnguard over to the other DLC.. Not that hard and I personally do that sort of stuff with my mods for Morrowind sometimes.

I could see the orcs making crossbows, since crossbows are the sort of weapons that heavily armored shock troops would pack. I can also see Imperials making them. Imperial ones would be the weakest, Orcish somewhat better, dwarvish ones the best.

Elves, however, no. I see elves as agile, lightly armored troops. They would almost certainly prefer longbows. Not quite as powerful, and more skill-intensive, but faster.
