Building Freedom?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 7:48 pm

I just wonder how much freedom they give us when it comes to building. will it be a matter of just a few pre-set builds, or will you be able to arrange and size within a limited space? been wantin somethin like this for a long time. although i'd prefer to build me own stronghold.

He's asking whether or not the building is preplanned, or if the building design is free like the Sims, not which holds you can build them in.

Can he, for instance, build a room in a completely random section of the plot, or are the rooms predetermined by a blueprint and you can only dictate what goes in them?

If you mean a Gardenhouse on one Side on the land.

And the Main house on the other.

Too bad you can't just put up spike strips or razor wire. Either would really ruin a giant's day.

Fixed. Dawnstar and Morthal are only the capitals the hold. Falkreath is named after the hold.

So I guess you can now essentially own property in all nine holds, since I consider the Archmage Quarters in Winterhold to be equivalent to a house.

I fear that we will just be able to see a house being built from the ground up instead of being able to actually design anything.

I really hope that isn't the case though.

We will see in a couple of days. I was hoping for more quests and factions to be added with DLC. Maybe the next one will have more skyrim and less sims.

I was looking at the pictures from the trailer showing the pages from the house building book and it looks like there will be at least some freedom in how the house is laid out. Each of the pages said West Wing and the name of the room. Since all of those rooms could not simultaneously be the west wing, it seems to me that you will have options in how the house is laid out (e.g., Enchanter's Tower on the East Wing, West Wing, etc...).

Now I just hope there's more than one building theme.
