Anyone know where to find the full set of armor? Do you get it further along in the story or do you have to find it some place in the fort?

Keep doing dawnguard quest and it will become readily availible around the fort. Or if your a vamp just kill dawnguard solders for your pieces. The armor spawns in the fort where everyone is sleeping you have to recruit gunmar and forgothernamebutupgradescrossbowchick then other random pieces of heavy and light armor will spawn.

Sadly, there isn't a sword.

Another one of the main Dawnguard characters gives you side missions to aquire special types of the axe, hammer and shield, there really good and have badass powers.

Am I the only one who thinks that the heavy version of the Dawnguard armour, helmet included, just looks plain awesome?

It does. I use the set on my Nord character. It fits him perfectly.

So the only dawnguard weapons available are war axes and warhammers? also are there new silver weapons or not?

The helmets and crossbows have effects on them, but I don't think they count as enchantments.

They have a set bonus. 25% less damage from vampires and drain life spell. I'm not sure if you can enchant them.

I don't really care for enchanting them, I just want to be sure I don't need the arcane blacksmith perk to improve them... getting to level 60 in smithing is a pain now if you don't grind...

I know for a fact you don't need the arcane blacksmith perk. I have a superior Enhanced Dwarven crossbow on one of my characters.
