I don't want to wait at this guy shooting steel bolts all day just to get more ammo. I want to craft or buy steel bolts. Bethesda please patch.

Uh thats in the Dlc you can make them or buy them but you need to progress through the Dawnguard storyline.

you can buy them from that girl that trains archer in the dawnguard castle she has like 100-200 at a time

then smith them steel ingots and firewood makes 24 at a time get 10 of each theres 240 bolts

As you progress through the first couple of missions that will unlock npcs who will see you between 100-200 crossbow bolts.

When I saw the title of your post I thought it was about the bolts shooting at a 45-90 degree angle(flying straight then instantly going at an angle to hit the target)

also you can go dawnguard and still be a vampire lord as long as you have serana

Read what he's saying, he's planning to do the vampire questline.

You can't craft bolts when doing the vampire questline, it's dawnguard exclusive.

If you don't care about RP for your character, you can complete the dawnguard questline and become a vampire lord at the end.

After reading the thread, i can kind of understand. My bad character has all archery perks, and my good one has none. As a result i have a weak ass crossbow, or a high powered standard crossbow with no ammo.

I said it before and I'll say it again, it was really dumb to keep a highly asked for weapon and crafting skill away from a player base that just wants to play vampires. I was so looking forward to crossbows on my vampire.

I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but as it so happens you have to progress in the Dawnguard side of the DLC to learn how to make the crossbows and bolts. My first character was a vamp and I was highly disappointed that I could not do it on the vampire quest line.
