No Dawnguard for me then.

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:22 am

So there I am, after 9 hard hours sweating at work, thinking yay, Dawnguard tonight. I get home, go on Marketplace to see if it is out before dragging the xbox down from the kid's bedroom to get it online, and find that all my points have been spent, on what are apparently 'consumables' for FIFA 12 (a game I don't even own, and really, 1960 points on bonus players or whatever it is you get?).

Then I notice 81 messages, all saying 'you were spammed and hacked by i_1337'. [0/10 for originality there, pal.]

Anyway, to the point, Microsoft phoned me, were very helpful, and said if the investigation proves I was hacked, I will be refunded, which is great. The reason I am posting is the messages were from the gamertag 'Markymark AkA'. I am NOT saying this is the hacker, may be someone else's hacked account, and if so, if this is your gamertag or you play online with them, just letting you know your account is being used for nefariousbloody annoying purposes.

So, anyway, no Dawnguard for me, but at least I have a shiny new password. Somehow that just isn't the same, ah well.

Wow who ever hacked you is pathetic individual, stealing money to buy stuff that isn't real for a video game, and doing it all while hiding behind a screen.

Geez I am very sorry to hear that mate :( hope they catch him and throw the book at him.

EDIT: if it's any consolation, 2 clanmates of mine had the exact same thing happen (minus the messages, but FIFA crap was purchased) and they both got their money back.

Thanks, everyone. I can't afford to buy more points at the mo', as the gas and electricity are due, but never fear, I will have more of that special brand of adventuring that only BGS do soon enough.

The same thing has happened to me. Almost 1600 points of purchases of FIFA 12. No messages on my account. Currently on the phone with X Box Live. Did you by chance accept a friend request from someone you didn't know?

I don't have any friends at all; I don't play online, only use it for buying dlc's.

Thanks. The only reason I asked about the friend request is because I recently was friended by someone I thought I knew, and didn't know if there might be a connection. Hopefully the Xbox Investigation team does quick work. Good luck to you friend!

There are a lot of reports of this in the xbox live ambassador chat. Do you have an EA account? If so is it with the same email/password as your live account? Make sure to keep these seperate at all costs. Some people have somehow gotten emails/passwords from the EA database through FIFA and that's how they get the information. A couple of my friends had this happen recently. Saddly there are many people in this world that like to raise the svck meter. Makes me sick.

I'm sorry for your loss. Hope all goes well with the investigation.

And good luck to you, too. They said three days, so should be cool.

[Edits :

@Markus, high five!

@Merrunz, cheers, EA account, huh? Haven't used mine since Mass Effect 2. I would have to remember the password before changing it, not too clever of me.]

I got hacked back in september and they bought 6000 MS points for fifa stuff. Took about 3 weeks for the investigation and I got my refund and got like 2 months Live free.

Three days!? MS must be stepping it up.

Yea? Well so is the cake.

On a more serious note. Hope all goes well with your investigation.
It is really weird because I have been seeing this happen to a lot of people. And it is always Fifa 12

I've noticed that these hacks all seem to be centered around the "Fifa" games. Also, Microsoft has gotten very good at catching theses hacks and refunding the money. Hopefully they develop a way to cease the exploits, whatever they may be. Good luck to you :D

Damn scumbags. It's sickening that people would do this. Best of luck to you.
The culprit should be forced to buy you what ever game you want when ever you want for the rest of your life.

The only type of hacker I respect are those who do it for challenge and fun. This hacker is probably just some kid who downloaded something another hacker created to earn fame or money. Not only do I not respect him, I hope he gets caught and you get your Dawnguard.
