A bug with Dexion Evicus

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:58 pm

I can't seem to progress in the main story of Dawnguard because he's always hostile towards me when I aproach him. I've been at it for an hour loading previous saves and I can't seem to get it to work. It tells me to speak to him before rescuing him. UGH! So frustrated. Anyone run into the same problem?

Is it when you first save him by undoing the barrier, because he is supposed to be hostile and you are supposed the kill him, although he will not die, he will just say that he surrenders and that he was under a spell of some sort.

Sure, then him and I have a conversation about the elder scroll....then he attacks me. We're at the fort now and he's attacking everyone. Should I just reinstall the DLC and lose all progress?

Not to steal your topic OP, but this seems like a good place for it.

I've gotten him to be all but dead, on his knees, and it's telling me to cast Vampire Seduction on him. I don't have it because I'm not stage 3 yet, and even though I've waited 72 hours I haven't progressed even one stage of Vampirism. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Ok so if anyone else has this problem, just leave the building, wait a few days then re-enter. I guess the building exists in a place outside of time and space or... something.

Are you dawnguard or vampire? And try reloading an earlier save, before you save him and leave the cave and fast travel somewhere and go back, fast traveling has solve a few of the bugs i have encountered.

Have you tried fast traveling somewhere instead of waiting?

Dawnguard. And yes I've done all of that and more. I've even cleared my cache.

OK! I've found a fix...I think. When I enter the cave I get the objective to speak to him and it holsters my weapons. But the enemies are still present. Sometimes he spawns outside the barrier ontop of that! So I chose one of those loads and killed everyone. He attacks me and yields. I tell him to go to Dawnguard and he agrees. All this time DO NOT deactivate the barrier. Deactivating the barrier will cause him to be permanently hostile. Talk to Isran and Dexicon should be there. The quest completes despite the fact the barrier wasn't deactivated.

Well, I'm new to these forums. But if there's a bug discussion thread we should add this.

My level 79 character who i've not only spent hours/days leveling but spent time just BSing around for days/hours and now it's all gone thanks to this glitch. I make a habit of making multiple saves for such things, but i was unaware of this glitch until i got to the fort myself. Goodtimes.

Actually, I don't feel so bad now, after reading about someone losing everything they had on their HD. How can Bethesda get away with this kind of crap??

At this point I'm just adding my voice to chorus, but I'm encountering a similar glitch. Dexion Evicus was hostile when I first met him at that barrier. Even after have killed all the vampires he continued to attack me. Once I downed him I could speak to him and he agreed to help me. I assumed that he would no longer be hostile at that point so I used a healing spell on him. After having done so he began attacking me again and I forced to down him again. I spoke to him again and he said that he would meet me at Dawnguard. I left him there and when I arrived at Dawnguard he was in the main hall. As soon as I stepped inside he began to attack whoever was close to him. He was overwhelmed and downed by the Dawnguard members. I could speak to him again while he was downed and he said the he would read the Elder Scroll for me, but never did. He just stayed down and when I tried to speak to him again it said that he was busy. Also, anytime that I healed him after that he would just attack whatever was closest to him. I have not been able to find a way around using him to complete the quest and I am unable to advance the Dawngaurd story line. Is there any chance that this bug will be patched in the near future.

It seems as though this glitch may have just fixed itself. I was wondering around Skyrim looking for things to pass the time until a patch was released. While I was off doing something else a message saying quest completed came up on my screen and informed me that the Prophecy quest was done. I whet back to Dawnguard to see if Dexion Evicus was no longer hostile. When I entered he was still trying to kill everyone. Well, at least I can move on with the Dawnguard story line, but I really hope that I don't need to deal with him again later in the plot.

Strange. The glitch I'm getting is Malkus (The Vamp) spawning inside the protected barrier with Dexion. I've tried reloading but no luck.

Pop him in the mouth and calm his ass down and you CAN talk to him.

It's just stupid and buggy. Had the same thing happen to me.
