I have bought and installed dishonored from steam, but i also cant save the game.

When i select a new save and then try to save it refreshes the screen but does not do anything. therby i cant load because the saves are still blank. the game also does not autosave so when corvo dies I need to restart the whole game because i have nothing to load from.
