Okay so I need more of these. I read that you can only get them from saw mills so I had went to the one in riverwood (and others) and used the machine....got no sawn logs. Any ideas?

Talk to the mill owners first and ask about buying them, you then get the option of asking if you can cut your own. They'll agree and you do so. You will need to ask them every time before you cut the logs though or it won't work. You get 10 sawn logs every time I think.
